The Taupō Harriers Summer Series culminates with its final event on 19 March 2025, held at Wharewaka Point. This race is part of a bi-weekly series conducted during the summer months, providing a consistent opportunity for community engagement in running and walking activities.
The course features an out-and-back loop along the Great Lake Pathway and Lions Walk, leading participants to the scenic 2 Mile Bay. The predominantly flat terrain offers an accessible route for various skill levels, and the lakeside views enhance the experience for runners and walkers alike. Additionally, a children’s race is organized, consisting of two laps around Wharewaka Point, totaling 1500 meters.
The event is organized by Taupō Harriers, a local running club that promotes health and fitness through regular running events. Participants can expect a community atmosphere, and there may be post-race activities for socializing and reflection on the series. This event not only emphasizes physical activity but also fosters a sense of camaraderie within the Taupō region.
