The Taupō Harriers Summer Series takes place on 22 January 2025 at Wharewaka Point, Taupō. This event is part of a bi-weekly series held on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. The main course features an out-and-back loop along the Great Lake Pathway and Lions Walk, offering scenic views of Lake Taupō and the surrounding landscape.
In addition to the main event, there is a children’s race consisting of two laps around Wharewaka Point. This format provides a safe and engaging environment for younger participants.
The series is organized by the Taupō Harriers, a local running club dedicated to promoting running and community involvement. Post-race amenities may include refreshments and opportunities for socializing among participants, fostering a community atmosphere. The event not only highlights local running culture but also contributes to the health and fitness of the community members. Subsequent races in the series are scheduled to continue every fortnight, with the next race occurring on 5 February 2025.
