The Shoe Clinic Asics 5K Series takes place on 4 February 2025 at North Hagley Park, Christchurch. This event is part of an annual series comprising five races throughout the summer months.
The venue, located in the heart of Christchurch, features a flat and accessible course that is suitable for both competitive athletes and recreational participants. The evening race schedule includes a competitive category for registered Athletics New Zealand athletes, as well as a recreational option for casual runners and walkers. Additionally, a shorter race is available for children aged 14 years and under, encouraging youth participation.
This series is organized by the Port Hills Athletic Club and Christchurch Avon Athletic Club, fostering a community-oriented atmosphere. The entry fees are intentionally low to make participation accessible for individuals and families. The event serves as an opportunity to witness some of Christchurch’s top runners and maintain fitness during the summer season. Post-race activities may include social gatherings, providing a platform for participants to connect.
