The Shotover Moonlight Mountain Marathon is scheduled for 15 February 2025 in Queenstown, New Zealand. This event features multiple trail running options, including an ultra marathon, marathon, 30km, half marathon, and 10km, all set on the private Ben Lomond High Country Station, which is typically not open to the public.
Participants will be transported to the marathon start location at Pipeline Bungy in Skippers Canyon, with the event concluding at Moke Lake. The 30km and half marathon events also commence and finish at Moke Lake. The 10km course offers a scenic route that runs alongside Moke Lake, meanders along farm roads, and incorporates historic water races before returning alongside Moke Creek, providing a diverse mix of terrain and natural beauty.
The event is notable not only for its stunning landscapes but also for the opportunity to access exclusive areas of the Ben Lomond High Country. Additionally, the Ben Lomond Vertical Kilometre takes place the day before, offering participants another challenging race option. Post-race amenities enhance the experience for all competitors.
