The 3 Peaks Mountain Race is set to take place on 30 March 2025 in Dunedin, organized by the Leith Harrier & Athletic Club. This endurance trail run features three distinct courses that showcase the diverse and scenic landscapes of the area.
The 26km course takes participants through lush native bush and forestry, leading to panoramic views from the peaks of Flagstaff, Swampy, and Mt Cargill. The terrain varies, providing a challenging experience for runners while highlighting the natural beauty of Dunedin.
For those seeking a more demanding challenge, the 56km course incorporates the Silverpeaks region and includes Pulpit Rock, elevating the experience with additional stunning vistas and rugged terrain. This distance also serves as the New Zealand short course trail running championship.
Additionally, an 11km trail run or walk encompasses the summit of Mount Cargill, offering a shorter but equally scenic option. Post-race amenities and activities are typically provided to enhance the overall experience for participants and spectators alike.
