The Mt Vernon Grand Traverse and Fun Run will take place on 8 June 2025, hosted by the Marlborough Harrier Club in the scenic Wither Hills Farm Park. This event features a challenging hill run and a shorter fun run, catering to a variety of participants.
The Mt Vernon Grand Traverse encompasses a rigorous 18-kilometre course that ascends Mt Vernon with a total elevation gain of 950 metres, reaching a peak of 422 metres. This route is characterized by off-road terrain, providing runners with stunning views of the surrounding landscape and a demanding physical challenge.
The Mt Vernon Fun Run offers an 11-kilometre alternative, which includes a quick ascent before following a traverse route that leads to the finish line. This course also showcases the natural beauty of the area while accommodating participants looking for a less intense experience.
Additionally, the Kids’ Challenge features a 2-kilometre out-and-back route along the Mapp Track, designed with smaller hills suitable for younger runners. This event promotes community involvement and encourages physical activity among families. Post-race activities and amenities will be available to enhance the overall experience for participants.
