The Dog Creek Timber Trail Ultra, previously known as the Old Forest Hanmer 100, will take place from April 4 to 5, 2025, in Hanmer Springs, New Zealand. This event features a unique lap format on a figure-eight course, comprising approximately 16 kilometers per lap. Participants will traverse a combination of a 10-kilometer northern loop run clockwise and a 6-kilometer southern loop run anticlockwise, allowing runners to pass the aid station and finish area every half lap.
The course is primarily a single track, offering a balanced mix of technical challenges and runnable terrain, with an elevation gain and loss of around 365 meters per lap. Runners will navigate through original plantings of exotic forest species, enhancing the scenic experience. The trail includes several footbridges and staircases, totaling approximately 52 steps, contributing to the course’s distinctive character.
